Where are the Strong Leaders?, by Fran Boscow
The internet is abuzz with mega amounts of information, videos and articles on who is running or might be running for president, especially with the republican party.
Although it's fairly early yet in the race, people have been quick to judge who they will back and who they will not. I do believe that the primary goal for most conservatives is to oust President Obama and his over spending disaster.
That puts the republican candidates at the starting gate and we all await the numerous coming debates.
Who's in and who's out?
Even at this point it's hard to tell who all the candidates will be, as only a few are definitely "in".
Tim Pawlenty and Mitt Romney are the main focus today as is Herman Cain, Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich. These are the ones who have pretty much formally announced that they will run.
We have yet to hear from others like Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin as well as from Chris Christie.
No doubt the list of contenders will be quite interesting and possibly surprising.
In the following weeks and months some will drop out due to financial reasons and/or low popularity.
This is to be expected.
Will the Real Leader Please Stand Up?
It seems like so long ago that we had a true leader who clearly saw a wonderful vision for America, who stood his ground and paved the way to get back to basics in America. That man was President Ronald Reagan. He certainly is a hard act to follow! Since that time we have had two republican presidents who were not strong conservatives but rather more centralists. President Bush, Sr. was not a strong president and many did not like his New World Order view nor did they like his views on NAFTA, (North American Free Trade Agreement).
President Bush, Jr. was more of a leader than his father but again, not a strong leader. For many conservatives, he too was viewed to be a liberal conservative, giving in way too much to the liberals.
His war on terror was fine after September 11th, 2001, but several years later the war budget put more strain on the economy. Then finally just before his presidential departure, President Bush allowed bailouts that were certainly questioned by a lot of conservatives.
Since President Reagan, we have had two republicans and two democrats in office.
We have been on a political roller coaster ride for quite some time now and we are in a race that will determine the near future and future of our country's stability in every way. This particular election in November of 2012 is crucial. Whoever our new Commander and Chief will be, who is voted into office will help rectify current issues or they will shred us apart.
Now is not the time for a weak or liberal conservative like Senator John McCain who ran in 2008 and lost to Barack Obama. Many conservatives did not vote in the election because of his severe bi partisan views and thus the republicans lost the election.
Conservatives have been known to do their homework whilst a lot of democrats go on feelings.
It has been shown in various polls and studies that conservatives are honed up on the issues with keen awareness while democrats do not know the Constitution and other important relevant issues.
Yet, while the conservatives are very aware of the issues and watch the debates, they have nit picked
so much so that they couldn't see the forest through the trees. Another mistake is that a lot of people opt out of the primaries leaving it up to the "other" guy.
It would be wise that at this time around instead of the Republican Party "deciding" who should be the front runners, it should be the people who decide and show the energy whom they predominately want to run by attending and voting in the primaries.
If the conservatives do not rally around the few that are running who are the best candidates and who they want for Commander and Chief, then once again the republicans will lose to the socialist liberals.
